Animal Best Friends in Independence, Missouri currently has a number of super-cute dogs available for adoption – including a few puppies! Scrappy here is my favorite, ’cause the boy enjoys being read to. My kind of dog! I can just picture it: night after night spent poring over His Dark Materials, snacking on pizza and pretending that we are each other’s daemons. Talk about your dream dates.
Anyway, I already have seven canine friends to take care of, so that’s out of the question. But my loss is your gain! Adopt Scrappy (or one of ABF’s other awesome canines) today – or, if you’re not able to make a long-term commitment, volunteer to foster a dog or cat. Homes, even temporary ones, are always needed!

He loves to be read to, enjoys playing with his toys and going for walks – just about anything that involves being with his people. He is a quiet guy, who will be loyal and devoted to his forever family. Scrappy likes to have all the attention, so he’d do best as the only pet. We prefer an adult only home or one with older children.
